Listen... Let's talk Shariah. Shariah Law. Anyone scared yet? Well, you really shouldn't be, don't believe the hype. It's been my experience that when ignorant people talk, all you hear is "BLAH BLAH BLAH!"
[This goes for Muslims also, Muslims can and a lot of the time are ignorant, don't think because someone is Muslim that they are inherently better than a non-Muslim, this was not a teaching of our Holy Prophet (S)]

Good Khateeb.
I attended Jummah at the Champaign, IL mosque today, the khateeb was one whom I have heard many times over the last several years and he is one of the khateebs I actually like and hope to hear more often.

The khateeb discussed the increasingly important issue of "Shariah Law in the United States." Unfortunately, it's not important for the right reasons. The political Left tends to use it as a fear mongering tool. Truly ignorant, but there will always be ignorant people stoking the unnecessary flames that keep the rest of us scared and stupid.

This is a great topic to discuss, and I am glad someone like this particular khateeb addressed it. Not many would do it justice, but enough of my commentary, here is what the man said.

The khateeb began his khutbah by talking about what happened in Tennessee last February. There was a legislation introduced saying that anyone using Shariah Law would be imprisoned for 15 years. Since then, at least 13 states have ratified similar laws.

Today, I attended Jummah at the Central Illinois Mosque in Champaign, IL. This mosque essentially caters to the UIUC campus, UIC's big sister. They do, however, have a sizeable local community their outside of the student body, it's pretty big actually.

The khateeb today was Imam Mahdi (A). I mean... not (A), or is this legitimate? In case you are confused as to why I am confused. The khateeb was introduced as Imam Mahdi which is slightly humorous to those who can take a joke. The reason being simply because Imam Mahdi is the foretold figure who reveals himself at the end of

Today's khutbah was an intersting one.

I attended the Jummah Khutbah in Champaign, IL, at the mosque at the U of I campus.

I will say that the majority of the khutbah was fairly good, although there were a few points upon which raised eyebrows could be seen.
